What is a Temperature Converter?
A Temperature Converter changes a temperature reading from one scale to another. It is useful because temperature scales do not all start at the same zero point, so the conversion is not just multiplication.
For example, Celsius to Fahrenheit uses both multiplication and an offset. Kelvin starts at absolute zero. Rankine is also absolute, but uses Fahrenheit-sized degrees. This makes a dedicated calculator safer than trying to treat temperature like length or weight.
